Shopping in Grandma's Closet

Thursday, May 6, 2010
This weekend my grandma was cleaning out her closet and allowed me to browse through her "give-away pile". This allowed grandma to get rid of some of her old clothes and allowed me to score some spring fashion finds for FREE. Check it out!

First, I picked up this beige/gray driving coat with pink lining. I remember that grandma used to wear this coat a lot when I was a wee tyke in the late 80s and early 90s on our daily trips to Denny's. I like its vintage look and I'll enjoy wearing it on cool summer nights.

I also picked up this pale khaki London Fog trench coat. Grandma hadn't worn this in a really long time, as it still had the dry cleaner bag and tag from a company that doesn't exists anymore. I don't have any memories of this jacket (which definitely makes this coat 30+ years old), but its back in style and a must have for Spring. I love the buttons and the attached belt and silver buckle! This will be my go-to coat of the season.

Have you gone shopping in your parents or grandparent's closets? Have you scored any fabulous finds? I'd love to hear about them, so share them in the comments below.
