My Limited Edition Sketchbook

Friday, May 18, 2012
I did it again. I signed up to participate in the Art House Co-op's "The Sketchbook Project: Limited Edition." This time I opted not to choose a theme and to leave my sketchbook Untitled (which was a challenge in and of itself). Originally, I hoped to complete a drawing everyday so I wouldn't feel so rushed to turn it in at the end, but ultimately things came up and I still ended up staying up late to finish up my final pages before the deadline. But at least I turned it in on time.

While working on my sketchbook I read the books One Drawing a Day: A 6-Week Course in Exploring Creativity with Illustration and Mixed Media by Veronica Lawlor and An Illustrated Life: Drawing Inspiration from the Private Sketchbooks of Artist, Illustrators and Designers by Danny Gregory and got a lot of inspiration and motivation from these books.

Unfortunately, since I was working up to the deadline, I didn't have time to photograph and scan my all of my sketchbook drawings, but I signed up to have my sketchbook digitized so my sketchbook will (eventually) be able to be viewed in it's entirety online.
